Disadvantages of Online Recruitment process
Despite of the fact that there are a lot many advantages of the online recruitment process, it also contains a number of drawbacks. Although, it is supposed that these issues will be resolved with the passage of time and with the advent of new techniques but still at the moment theses issues need serious consideration. Some of these problems are discussed below:
The basic aim of online recruitment was to grasp those job seekers who are really in a need to find a jobs online and through contacts these applicant should be brought to the respective companies but initially the outcome was not up to the mark as most of the applicants do apply and submit their resume but do not follow their resume as on internet they keep on searching for better than the best one.
Some experts are of the view that growing popularity of online recruitment my exclude too many potential applicants. It has also been thought that the online application methods are not secure enough. Now that virtually anyone can submit an application on behalf of anyone else with just a few clicks of the mouse, the traditional barriers that worked to keep the recruitment process sustainable have largely been eliminated.
One of the most considerable issues is the elimination of human factor from the whole recruitment process. Although it is a sign of advancement as many portions has been automated but in some cases the automated behavior cannot replace the human attitude and management. One of the examples is in the case if the applicant do not have up to the mark education but have professional experience in the field then the computer will not consider his resume due to lack in education. On the other hand the human person might consider him due to his professional achievement that might be of use to company.
The recruitment agencies still organize tests and one to one interviews. This is one of the reason that one cannot 100% rely on the online recruitment process due to a number of flaws. It is considered that with the growth of technology these issues will overcome like interviews on video conferencing etc but till then it is not possible to suppose online recruitment process to be the efficient recruitment process.
