Engineering Jobs Have Highest Starting Salaries

National Association of Colleges and Employers has organized a survey for the highest starting salaries recently. The survey found the engineering jobs in four out of the top five positions for highest starting salaries of recent graduates. NACE further found that petroleum engineering earned the title of highest-paying degree with $83,121 for the average starting offer. This discipline, typically locate gas and oil reservoirs brings the resource to the Earth’s surface. Chemical engineering jobs including, mining engineering and computer engineering also claimed top four spots and computer science got fifth placement.

There comes a point for discussion that the number of engineering graduates is decreasing considerably, while engineering discipline provides the most lucrative starting salary. This point is raised by  the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
